Description Ventisquero Colgante - Parque Nacional Queulat - Patagonia - Chile

Glaciers and Rain Forest at the same time!? Does that not sound weird? Along the Carretera Austral this is just he way it is. The area along the Pacific belongs to the wettest places on the earth. The cold current of the ocean keeps the area relatively cold and hot days in the summer are rare. Said that, all is a very fragile eco system. Just a bit a higher average of the temperature could change everything. Unfortunately it seems to happen already. Many of the glaciers retreat faster than anywhere else on earth!
